Went to see The Dark Knight today with [info]moimoietmoi - because we had to wait till the 13th for the film to come out here. Shocking, I know - and wow! It was so intense! Dark and stressful. I loved it! I have to say I never expected to feel stress out when going to see a Batman film but this one totally did it for me, it was fantastic! I do understand why pretty much everyone's raving about it. And I'm joining the club!

Also, we saw the commercial for The Transporter - I was like 'what is it, The Transporter 10?' and, no, turns out it's just the third - and I was struck by the thought of a The TransporterxShoot 'Em Up crossover... meaning, incidentally, a Frank/Smith crossover, meaning some Jason Statham/Clive Owen hotness. Seriously, can you imagine those two together? On second thought, this might be a bit scary. Then again, everyone knows that scary got sexy so...

Oh, and speaking of; just two days ago I was thinking that I'd love some SPN bookmarks - don't ask me why, there's absolutely no reason why I had that kind of craving all of a sudden - and what do I find this morning in the newsletter? Someone posted exactly that!! And they're absolutely gorgeous and I saved a tons of them and as soon as I can I'll print them out and then I'm gonna hug them and squeeze them and kiss them and call them George! Also, I love the SPN fandom, you just need to think of something and, somewhere, someone is busy granting you your wish ♥ ♥

Unrelated, I'm thinking of downloading the pilot - real pilot, not the one that has been leaked at the moment - of True Blood because Sam described the potential of that show in a great way. I'm curious to see if the actual episode will be as good as the way she described how it could be... and if it's not, then I'll send the writers her address so that she can help them make it better :-)

Lazying Around / babycakesin
For the past four days I was away in Normandie and I did nothing but rest, read, rest some more, walk along the beach, stroll in little towns, sit on the beach, read again, eat a lot, and spend time with my family. Definitely my kind of vacation.

In case some people need visuals; this is where I spent most of my time )

With some visiting, like Caen, for instance )

But, well, yeah, basically I was always here )

Then yesterday morning, before leaving for Choisy, we got a call telling us someone had broken into my parents' office - which, wow, they so didn't need that - and then when I arrived in Choisy, I received another call telling me my goddaughter was in the hospital!

Cue chills running down my spine. Turns out Chiara had a very strong allergic reaction to the new milk she was given and, well, things got scary very quickly. Sis kept her cool and did everything she was supposed to but she got the scare of her life. The paramedics helped Little Bit right away and everything was back under control soon, but the hospital preferred to keep her overnight. I had my sister on the phone early this morning and Chiara was just fine, sleeping like, well, a baby :-) They'll bring her back home later in the day. All ends well, we'll just have to be careful about the milk and other milk related products for some time, and hope we won't get a repeat performance.

I have no idea what was up with yesterday, but there was something in the air, apparently.

After four days away I'm skip=24122 so I'm not sure I'll be brave enough to tackle the flist, I have to admit. I'll definitely hunt down the fics - hail to newsletter - but for the rest, I don't know *is a wuss*

Today was a pretty typical autumnal day; grey clouds, rain and storms. I've been told we were still in August but I call bullshit.

Because I didn't want to face the bad weather and risk making my cold even worse, I cancelled my plan and stayed home and indulged in some heavy Me time. I read a lot of fics - I almost have no fic!tabs left... which is weird, I'm so used to having multiple windows with multiple tabs open all the time - and sorta OD'ed on Panic at the Disco videos. Those two in particular, showing a close-up of Spencer Smith playing drums, were watched over and over again.

Spencer Smith, How So Awesome? )

No, seriously, I'm asking! )

Drummers are all kinda impressive; they put so much energy into their performance, which isn't easy if you consider they're sitting and thus don't exactly have room to move.

And because everything leads you to MCR, watching Spencer Smith do his thing made me think of Bob Bryar so I watched some of The Black Parade is Dead too. Finally! There's just no words for how much I love those guys; what I wouldn't do to see them live! *pines*

Bandom is ruling my fannish life lately. Not that I'm complaining, it's pretty fun :-) I just need to find some Spencer slash and I'll be able to officially include PATD as one of my new fandoms. Well, bandoms, you know what I mean. Oh, and I also need to find some icons... preferably of Spencer drumming *nods*

Bandom will get us all...

Anyone following Khaos Komix, here? If not, then I wonder why, it's all kinds of awesome, btw. Anyway, I was quite behind and finally caught up with Tom's story - one of my three favourites - and the latest panels were difficult to read. Made me cry, actually. I need to leave some feedbacks, now.

Yesterday I gave a bit of my hard-earned *cough* money to the SPN crowd and to the Panic boys; I treated myself with SPN s2 - finally came out in France - and then A Fever You Can't Sweat Out and Pretty.Odd.

A note to TPTB, the reason why I spent money on those items? Is that I'd downloaded them first. Without the illegal download, there would have been no legal purchase on my part. I'm just sayin'.

Oh and the theme for yesterday seems to have been Panic At the Disco. First, I've been listening to the two albums all morning - Northern Downpour in particular has been playing in a loop. Loud. Something I'm grateful for? Heavy and solid walls that make for good sound buffer - then I bought the two albums and later on I had an episode of Heroes in the background and I perked up when I heard a familiar song; turns out Claire and the other cheerleaders were doing some practice on Nine in the Afternoon. Funny that :-)

Not that I was watching the episode, it was more as a background sound while I was engaged in a furious text message marathon with a girl I'm Sorta Flirting With a Lot at the moment, but I definitely perked up when I heard the song :-)

And I also went to the cinema yesterday with a friend; we went to see The Incredible Hulk. Well, okay, see, when I got to pay for my ticket, the guy at the till made me pay half the price. Just like that, because some people are awfully nice on this planet - like the barista who gave me two slices of cheesecake the other day instead of one. Anyway, after watching the film, I was really happy he'd done that. It wasn't, like, Iwanttokillmyself!bad but it wasn't worth 9.80€, that's for sure.

Between you and me, I can't wait for Dark Night to come out next week. For that film, I'll pay the 9.80€ gladly. Eagerly, even :-)

Went away for the weekend again. I think we worked even harder than we did last week, but talk about the satisfaction of a job well done! It is a great feeling and it was worth it :-)

No beach for us on Sunday at all but we did manage to get there on Saturday, in the evening. It was sunny but windy, which suited us just fine as we wanted to fly our kite. It was my first time with one and wow, did I fail at kite flying! lol The kite would stay in the air for, like, twenty seconds before it would crash. And I do mean crash.

I would manage to do some crazy figures before it went down but, in the end, down it always went. Rémi was a pro at it, though. The Mom and Auntie went back to the house - after a good laugh at all our expenses, they were even worse than I was, man did we laugh our asses off! - and it was just Rémi and me for an hour after that...

It was such a beautiful moment! I mean, it was around 7.30 PM, sunny but windy, as I said, and apart from riders galloping close to the sea, there was pretty much no-one on the beach; just Rémi flying the kite, me sitting on the sand, the wind blowing enough to be playful but not biting, the waves breaking on the shore... it was so peaceful! I wanted to bottle up that moment forever. I also wish I'd taken my camera because it made for such a gorgeous pic; Rémi in the foreground, the sea in the background, the kite up high in the sky.... I loved it!

It was also quite inspiring because funny thing is? I sorta wrote a J2 snippet in my head lol First time it happens, I have to say, but Jared and Jensen were the two "characters" that popped into my head when the scene started to unfold. Twas a very sweet scene, toeing the line of sexy while not crossing it. It'd be fun to see if I could write it down for real, now. Not that I will, but it was fun all the same :-)

And completely unrelated now; I watched the trailer for the new season of Pushing Daisies and awww but I love my crazycuteawesomebizarre show so much! Can't wait to have it back :-)

Connotations!

Today is a day to celebrate! First, it's Friday, which is usually absolutely wonderful in and of itself but today also happens to be Friday, August, 1st, meaning that, as of right this minute, I'm off work for three weeks! There's no words for how awesome that is :-)

And! [info]yami_tai and I are going to Connotations, that's official! Pending any catastrophe that would occur between today and October that is but whee it's done! The tickets have been bought, we also have the rooms booked, so I just need to sort out the travel and we're all set!

I've heard so much about that con, I cannot wait to be there :-)

Also, I was talking with the one co-worker that was left in my department today and we were talking about our hobbies and she was like 'you seem quite passionate about tv shows', which, yeah, I guess I am :-p

I was telling her it wasn't just the show itself but everything that went with it; the fannish talks, the fannish energy, the fannish creativity, the cons, well, everything, really, and I knew she wasn't really getting it but she was trying to, which I thought was sweet. Usually people just think you're weird and have lame-ass hobbies and that's it.

I enjoyed what she said when I explained to her what a convention was, ie 'sounds like there's an incredible energy there' because that's definitely it. Guess I explained it well :-)

Anyway, all that to say, I'm supposed to be going to Connotations with [info]yami_tai, where I'll finally meet [info]turps33 and her kick-ass hubby and I'm so excited that I could burst!

Seeing how everything can happen to stop you from going to a con - I'm think of Asylum2 here - I think it's nice to get excited while you can *nods* So, yay, con \o/

Geeks need to be handled with care.

Omg what did they do to del.icio.us! They changed everything! I didn't know they were going to change everything! I couldn't prepare myself before they changed everything! Couldn't try to gently ease myself into the idea that we'd get a new look *freaks out*

Can we get rid of the 'top 10 tags' and the 'all tags'? And is there a way to have the 'view in cloud' again? I loved that one. And what about the 'unbundled tags' bundle? I so need it!

I so hate changes *pout* Yeah, okay, so I'll get used to the new look - and forget about the old one, I'm sure - but I need to get through the first stage of mourning the older one first, is all.

Oh! There's a storm! Thunder! Rain! Fresh air! Omg, today was so incredibly hot - without a real sun - and sticky and just omg so gross! The office was a sauna, the outside world wasn't better but it was nothing, nothing compared to the trains and buses. God, it felt like an oven in there.

Went to see my sis and Chiara after work and the Little Bit was all cranky due to the heat and kept fidgeting and doing those 'omg i hate life right now, come on do something, dude!' faces but I think we were all in the same situation. So Sis and I watched Secret Story and criticised and mocked Laurent and Samantha. Criticising and mocking real!tv contestants is a good way to channel your agressivity due to the heat, I found out.

Then I got home and the Very First Thing I did was take a shower. A cold one. I almost passed out from the sheer pleasure that gave me ♥ ♥

not!weekend and fake!site

Sam at Work / inthe_sunshine
Would you believe that I was at the seaside this weekend and could only go to the beach one hour? Overall? Guess that's what happens when you go help renovating a house. I spent both days painting walls and sandpapering windows and painting some more. We were all tired and sore and funny thing is? I actually had a great time :-) First, I was with the parental unit and one of my cousins and second, even though we couldn't laze around at the beach - which was five minutes away from the house. Literally - I still managed to go there and take a peek in the evening and it was grand! I so love the sea; not even to swim but just to, you know, sit on the sand and watch the waves and listen to them break on the shore?

So anyway, I had a nice weekend albeit very tiring one. Yesterday I was very tired and sore all over and it was ridiculously hot and to add insult to injury, it was the first day or my period so I was in pain all day and I just wanted to stay home omg but I couldn't and it sucked! There.

I did make it home in one piece, though, which was a miracle in and of itself. And then I started fiddling with (x)html and css and I sorta created the first draft of the homepage of my future new site. I called it fake!site because I don't have anywhere to host it. I don't want to be at geocities anymore - did I mention I sorta gave up on that one? - and I used to have a populli account Once Upon a Time but I don't even remember when that was, so er, yeah.

If I had to describe the new look of the site it would be clear and, well, clear, I guess. )

This was basically me trying my hands at the whole css thing. For reals. Guess I can say I popped my css cherry ;-p It's still as fun in practice as it is in theory, btw :-) Admittedly, I haven't done anything outstanding yet but this is big for me, already, so I'm happy.

Okay now I'm gonna try and find some work to do. This is it, the university looks like a ghost town. Most of the gates are closed, there's only one entrance left, we have to sign in when we get in and out and I think there must be twenty-ish of us in the whole building. And only two in my department.

[info]sentinel_thurs - created 2003-07-24. Fifth anniversary! Sis, can you believe our baby is five years old? They grow up so fast! One of my favourite's TS jokes? Is how new writers kill the fandom and how LJ finishes doing the job. Right. Guess all the wonderful fics we get each week are just part of our imagination, then? Ha! *mocks*

Today was busier at work and that made me happy. I still had time to keep with the self-teaching, though. After PowerPoint I decided to try my hands at CSS. Hee, I thought CSS was the stuff of the devil before. It's not! It's pretty and shiny and I love it! It made me want to finally go and create a new site for all of my fics, and that's saying something!

Also, I wonder how many things I thought were too complex for me and are, in fact, not? So many possibilities! I'll have to think about that *nods*

Threadless / feathered
I need your help, flist. Or more exactly the help of people who're Threadless fans. Okay so. Yesterday, [info]moimoietmoi mentioned a t-shirt that would be absolutely perfect for me. And every other SPN fans who enjoy Threadless and all. Except I couldn't find aforementioned t-shirt, so I'm hoping maybe someone will know what she was talking about: it's supposedly black with a map of the United States, and in lieu of interesting things to see in some states, it had the name of some supernatural creatures on it, like werewolves and whatnot.

I mean, seriously, wouldn't that be the most perfect SPN shirt ever? I think so too. It'd seem it was out of print when Sam saw it but I was thinking if it's somewhere in the site I could beg ask my Threadless!buddies to all go and click on 'reprint'?

Anyway, if it rings a bell, let me know, please? Tia.

And now, because I feel all lazy and just want to snuggle on my couch and read the latest comics I bought - including The Umbrella Academy \o/ - I'll just post the entry I wrote the other day. This is for [info]velvetjinx who wanted to know the intimacy of my bag : -)

The resurrection of What's Inside My Bag meme )

If you want to share with your flist and satisfy our curiosity, considered yourself tagged.

Voilà. Exciting, eh? Don't answer that, kthxbai. Actually it reminds me of that program I watched one night; women after women showed us what was in their respective bags and told us stories that sometimes went with the items. That was it; no narrator, no nothing. Just those women, one after the other, in their homes, in a café, wherever, going over the content of their bags. Dude, I watched the whole thing from start to finish. You'd think I suddenly turned into [info]moimoietmoi or something ;-)

First things first, I want to wish the happiest of Happy Birthday to [info]ninjetti75. Hope you're having a fantastic day, Josh! As usual for your birthday I tried to get Jensen for you, but it'd seem the guy is way too busy, I couldn't get a hold of him. Next year, mate! And if I'm not mistaken, today is also [info]thelana's birthday so Happy Birthday to you too!

Another reason to celebrate is that I'm now on weekend, yay! I made it! It also started in the most delicious way because a) on my way home I made a detour to Glups, which is basically paradise on earth, of the candy variety and b) my The Black Parade is Dead arrived! It was waiting for me in my mailbox ♥ ♥

Oh and unrelated but today at work I found a pretty amusing file: "Cover letters and CV sent by prags". That cracked me up. I, of course, had to explain the reference because Talks a Lot didn't understand why I found so hilarious a file with the short version of professeur agrégés on it, but it was worth it. Seriously, I could see the original mail asking "all prags to send application to find a job at the uni" :-p

Anyway *cough* Hey, [info]greedy_dancer shared the trailer for Watchmen and it was so fun seeing JDM in it! Also, the FP has sorta made an appointment for when the film is released. Next year. Ha, we can plan ahead sometimes, see? \o/

And now, I think I'll go and read my flist, read a couple of fics and then tonight! I'll bask in MCR goodness :-)

Yesterday, I finally ordered The Black Parade is Dead! I officially stopped failing at being a MCR fan \o/ I wanted to buy it in a store, ie to have the DVDs in my hot little hands right away but upon visiting two stores with no results - a guy even went 'I don't know that film, sorry' which, dude, you pained me! - I decided that I'd better do the internet thing. Which I did.

And because I can't not buy a book when I'm at amazon, I also treated myself with Mind Fuck by Manna Francis, because The Administrations series is All Kinds of Awesome. And because I'm always so thrilled to see a fic writer who got published.

Speaking of 'publishing', though it's more of an 'archiving' thing here; I'm quite excited over the idea of my TS stories being hosted at Artifact Storage Room 3, the fandom's brand new TS archive. It's taking me longer than some people to upload - *eyes [info]janedavitt* - but the plan is to have, if not all of my stories, at least all the ones I wrote since I got my LJ, archived there.

Since I've sorta abandoned my site and haven't uploaded anything at 852 Prospect for the longest time, archiving at ASR3 is the next best thing; especially as we can upload and edit our fics ourselves. And I love that there's a series section. I can already imagine all of my Night series having a home there :-)

PS: Completely unrelated et en français dans le texte. Ils rediffusent Ulysse 31? Je sens que je vais être obligée de regarder. Et de chanter le générique en plus. Ah mince, petit déception, c'est pas le générique que je préfère *pout*

Before Cold Case started, I watched the premiere of The Mentalist - pre-aired episode - and I really liked it. Ok so nothing outstanding or anything but still good.

The premise of the show sounded nice but I guess I had no particular expectation. Turns out I'm a little hooked, mostly thanks to the characters. No big surprise, here :-) So unless the style changes drastically when the actual season starts, this will be one of the shows I'll download every week *nods*

Patrick is a very endearing and interesting character and the rest of the team made a very good impression on me - and I'm not even a fan of Robin Tunney, so....

The question now is where did I see Simon Baker before? Because he does look a bit familiar, but I can't place him. I'm trying to think of Australian stuff I could have seen him in, but I'm drawing a blank. [ETA: Just remembered where I saw him before! Hartley, Coeurs à Vif aka Heartbreak High. Well, it explains why he looked just slightly familiar, I never really watched the show but my sister was a big fan. I guess it's more of an osmosis kinda thing.]

Speaking of, it's a shame the guy couldn't keep his Australian accent because that would have been quite sexy. Though I guess it'd have kinda ruined the whole American Character thing. Oh, well...

Ok, now I need to try and compile a list of MCR goodness for [info]angeliksmall because I sorta pimped the boys to her this afternoon. Must keep the good work now!

And! I've just watched the first of tonight's three episodes of Cold Case and I didn't cry! So it can happen omg!

Yesterday [info]krazykipper asked about our fandom history and it made me think of my Internet Journey. With capital letters, yes. I remembered how I bought my first modem when I was eighteen and how said modem was actually one of the first things I bought with the salary I got from my First Real Official Job. My little 56k modem. Sharp blue. With that screeching 'I Iz Going On-Line Nao Kthxbai' noise. I had to put a pillow on it sometimes so that I wouldn't wake everyone in the house

I called it Mallorie, Mallo for short. The reasoning being that 'she' - the modem happened to be female - brought me to all kinds of different worlds via the net so, therefore, it was called Mallorie after Quinn Mallory from Sliders. I always have lame awesome reasons to call my stuff the way I do, see? \o/

Oh! And one day Mallo fell down and the button that needed to be switched on in order to get on-line sorta broke so in order to fix it I put a big red ribbon on it and tied it with a severe knot around the modem. Poor Mallo, she sorta looked ridiculous like that, but she was such a trooper because she kept logging me in, anyway.

And no DSL at the time, of course, just a twenty-hour contract. Omg twenty-hours a month! So okay I didn't have time-consuming LJ to play with at the time, but I swear I feel like hyperventilating when I think of the short time I had back then.

Fast forward a few years when I discovered LJ... I still didn't have broadhand at the time, so in order not to kill my net time when I wanted to answer comments - in other words, in order to protect my bank account - I would get on-line, check my mails, log out, reply to each comment off-line, get back on-line and post them all.

Seriously, so much hassle for something that is so incredibly easy that I take it for granted now, you know?

Girls in Love / pantyshopping
Slow day at work today. Slooooooow. Happy Girl, the co-worker I'm in most contact with, and I were all excited when we received our stationary order this morning - stationary makes me happy, I have no idea why - but apart from that, nothing exciting at all. Plus, we just realised that Boss Man won't be here at all so, you know, when the cat's away, Teh Mouse updates her LJ :-)

Many flisters have been gleefully reporting about the PATD concert last night and I'm feeling the first stage of Interest for Something New. Obviously I know about PATD, I have read some fics with them and I happen to have their two albums on my HD - [info]crazybutsound's doing - but I'm now interested in seeing more of them. So let's say you wanted to pimp the boys to someone, what would you link them to? Stage performance, video clips, Days In the Lives and whatnot. Pimp me?

Before I forget, the other day in a comment - and of course I forgot whose LJ it was, sorry! - I mentioned a campaign we're seeing at the moment in France to encourage people to get tested before they start having sex without a condom. They have a couple of versions and I found the one I was talking about, ie the m/m one. Just scroll down a bit till you see the DailyMotion video.

The text goes like this, roughly because I don't necessarily remember all the nth :"The first look. The first kiss. The first time. The second time. The third. the fourth. The sixth. The tenth. The twentieth. The forty-sixth. The test." They're both negative and the voice over keeps on counting "the forty-seventh, the fiftieth..." It's the same text for the different ads, in case you were wondering, and I just love the way it's done. The way it's told.

Apart from that, RL hasn't been kind to a couple of my friends the past few days and it's always upsetting when your friends are hurting. Especially when you can't really do a thing. That's life, as they say, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

J² Love / supermanaction
As part of my job I'm working on different projects and some of them put me in contact with a bunch of people from other universities in Paris. I had my first meeting with most of them today. For the record? I kinda really hate being in the middle of a crowd when I don't know anyone. Being the newbie that I am in the department, I had to do the whole First Meeting thing, obviously, but it's not an easy thing for me *makes face*

I did make an effort, though, and mingled and, in the end, the three girls in the group kissed me goodbye all friendly-like but, just - I so didn't feel at ease. It's a good thing I was with another co-worker, Quiet Guy, who happens to be even more reserved than I am when faced with unfamiliar faces.

Without the slightest segue; am still reading my way through Big Bang stories and last night I read one that I absolutely loved, namely Stuck on Delete. It's a band!au and it pictures a damaged!Jensen in a way that I completely lapped up. It was more subtle and edgier than many stories I read... less cliched in the way it was treated. Which isn't a criticism as I happen to love all kinds of broken!Jensen but just to say that, sometimes, a characterisation will be a tad different and it's always of the good :-) Jared is all kinds of awesome too in that fic, I had a blast reading it, so I'm pimping :-)

And on the subject of Jensen Ackles and all; the more I think about it, the more I want to go the Ten Inch Hero screening in London. Then again, if I could, I'd do every single con/screening/whatever that is related to SPN and J2 so I guess it's not saying much :-)

I see people talking about all those cons in the States and it always makes me so envious, dude! Here's to hoping I'll go to Asylum next year and that either/both our boys will be there too *fingers crossed*

I know I cry easily in front of the tv but Cold Case is helping me break some kind of record, really. Feels like I'm in tears at the end of every single episode *wipes tears*

I'm still mourning the lack of Cold Case DVDs, btw, and will always do. It's also incredibly ironic that one of the things that makes this show so good, meaning the soundtrack, happens to be the same thing that prevents it from being released on DVDs. Life, it's funny sometimes.

Anyway. I had such a quiet and lazy weekend! After going out every day of the week after work last week, I wanted some Me time and I certainly got my wish. Awesome :-) I did run some errands but it was quickly done. I also took the time to finally do all the cleaning and vacuuming Teh Flat desperately needed. Plus some laundry and ironing.

The excitement of my life, I can barely stand it sometimes, dude!

Know what? It always amuses me that Once Upon a Time, I started using 'dude' in reference to Hurley in Lost - I thought it was an amusing and cute word and I just started using it. At the time it was 100% associated with Hurley. Now it's all about Dean and Dean only. Funny thing.

And speaking of SPN; La Trilogie du Samedi now? Numb3rs followed with Supernatural. You'd think I bribed the network or something :-) Summer hiatus might be on in the States but between N3, SPN, Lost and Cold Case every Saturday and Sunday, I do have some nice tv over here too. Sure, it's in French but I'm part of the minority that can watch dubbed shows without wanting to commit suicide. Most of the time, that is ;-)

Heee I'm downloading Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor audiobook! Survivor! Which will be sitting on my HD and fake!ipod soon! ♥ ♥ So okay it's more or less crawling right now but it's getting better by the second so in my download, I trust \o/

I'm so incredibly, madly in love with that novel! Chuck Palahniuk is a genius, it was love at first read. I've ordered Lullaby and Choke over at amazon just now; I did find them at Gibert Joseph but alas I didn't like the covers, wheareas Amazon offered me a larger collection to choose from, including the Vintage one which I love. It's not that I judge a book by its cover, exactly. Except when I kinda do. What can I say, a pretty and/or interesting and/or original cover will go a long way.

Also, I met with a couple of my friends after work today and I was showing Survivor to Michel because I had the feeling it was the kind of books he'd enjoy and I was right, except he's already a fan of Chuck Palahniuk so it was old news to him. Still a) I was right, so I felt kinda smug and b) I know where to borrow some other titles.

And Chuck Palahniuk reminds me of [info]frayen because I think she's the one who mentioned a bunch of his books and made me want to try them so first, thank you, mate, for the awesome rec and, second, a Happy Birthday to you! *kisses*

Changing the subject, does anyone know where I can find the entry talking about a possible screening of Ten Inch Hero in London? I think it was in London. I know a couple of you have linked to the original post but I'm behind my flist again and I'm not sure when I read it or who mentioned it so, help, please?

Just got home from the theater; I met with [info]greedy_dancer after work to see Prince Caspian, which I really enjoyed. Plus, a film is always even more enjoyable in the company of another slasher. We were having a blast with all the Peter/Caspian subtext and innuendos and whatnot that only a slasher will see.

I told her that I definitely knew what I was going to do once back home and I do plan on hunting some Narnia slash. If anyone has recs, I'm all ears. Also, I mentioned to GD a poll I'd seen recently on LJ meant to decide who people thought topped in the Peter/Caspian relationship and after watching the film, I have to say it's not an easy question.

My first reaction was to say Peter but after further thoughts I'm not sure it would be that obvious... so I think - and coming from me that's kinda huge - that they might switch. Though I have a preference for Caspian bottoming, anyway *nods* Edmund is bottom all the way, btw, but then again he's my fave, so...

Oh and er... is there any slash involving the General? Just, you know, out of curiosity.

Changing the subject; I had a fun afternoon at work today. With a couple of my coworkers, we modelled for a couple of shoots. Yes, I'm a model now \o/ Sorta. Okay, not really.

I mentioned that we're working on Big Project #1 at the moment, right? We need some posters/ads for it. Graphic Lady decided to take some photos she'll use on one of her posters and in order to so she needed students to sit for it.

Except this time of the year, there's no students left at the uni, so she enlisted a bunch of us to play at being all student-like... If she doesn't mind fake!students in their late-twenties instead of real!students in their not-even-early-twenties, who was I to argue? Especially as it meant I was out of the office for some time and even out of the building later on as she wanted some exterior shoots. Like, students studying on their laptops in Teh Great Outdoors, you know? Twas fun :-)

Oh and I still don't have a desk - it's been ordered but hasn't arrived yet - or anything but I now have my laptop and a desktop, so naturally I decided to give them a name. Then it came to me.

Fact One, Desktop is much bigger than Laptop. Fact Two: Desktop is plugged in Laptop. Conclusion: Jared is Desktop and Jensen is Laptop! So obvious omg! Therefore I called the entity J2 \o/ Now that my computers have name, I'm sure I'll do even better work ;-p

Isn't it weird how the format of a fic will influence you? I mean, I guess it shouldn't matter that the formatting is all 'wrong', ie spacey with a different font than the one we're used to seeing on LJ, with bold text etc... but I can't help it, as soon as I see a story which template looks odd, with weird fonts, break lines all over the place or, even worse, with different font colours, I lose all prospective interest - unless I know the author and already like their fics, I mean.

Or maybe I don't necessarily lose all interest, but I can't help being, I don't know, prejudiced? This is stupid, I know, I'm trying to get over it, promise.

Though I guess it doesn't help that when I do decide to stop being silly and anal about formatting and actually read the fic, it often ends up in the bad!fic category. Admittedly it could just be bad luck on my part, mind. As usual, bad!fic is in the eye of the beholder blah blah blah but still...

I just saw that kind of story so that's why I was thinking about that.

Anyway! Had a great weekend; I spent the whole day at my sister's today and we had a BBQ and all lazed around under the sun. Awesomeness.

And yesterday I went to Pride with [info]greedy_dancer and we had an fantastic time, as usual. There's so much energy in that event, it's absolutely wonderful! A bit tiring, mind, because when you reach Bastille - where the parade ends - you're kinda dead on your feet but it's so worth it! Definitely one of my favourite time of the year :-)

GD also reminded me that this year's Pride marked the fourth anniversary of our meeting which, yay, anniversary! I totally consider Pride as one of our traditions, I have to say, so I'm glad we usually manage to go together.
